Marlene is no stranger to the UK, returning every March for an extended tour of the country. A former studio singer in New York, Marlene has sung back-up for everyone from Sinatra to Kiss (be sure to ask for a few Sinatra stories) as well as providing her distinctive voice to hundreds of commercials, “mmm, mmm good, that’s what Campbell’s Soups are”, Michelob Beer, Winston Cigarettes, See The USA in your Chevrolet, to name just a few!
Marlene has performed at Carnegie Hall as part of the Kool Jazz Fest, and all the clubs in New York City, The Blue Note, Birdland, Iridium, The Rainbow Room, Jazz @ The Kitano, etc. She has recorded 21 cd’s with many noteworthy musicians, Sir George Shearing, Hank Jones, Bucky Pizzarelli, Tommy Flanagan, Marian McPartland, and many more. The performance at The Fire Station will include some elegant Kern, hot Gershwin, clever Sondheim, sophisticated Porter, hip Cy Coleman, and more
