Music for Lent
Join Nonsuch Singers and our conductor Tom Bullard in the atmospheric setting of Douai Abbey, a working Benedictine monastery in rural Berkshire.
Recently described by Master of the Queen’s Music Judith Weir as ‘a stylish high-quality chamber choir’, Nonsuch Singers will be performing a beautiful programme of Lenten music for the week before Easter.
Palestrina’s Missa Papae Marcelli is interspersed with 20th century works: Arvo Pärt’s Which was the son of, Tavener’s Song for Athene, Penderecki’s Agnus Dei from his Polish Requiem and Hollywood composer JAC Redford’s affecting Psalm 22. Allegri’s classic setting of the Miserere also features.
