The Abingdon Waterturnpike Murder: a cross-border tale of Berkshire and Oxfordshire skulduggery: with Mark Davies
In 1787, an elderly man was robbed and murdered after leaving Abingdon’s Michaelmas Fair. The evidence which emerged exposed a wide-ranging, criminal network cemented by marriage alliances and supported by some of Abingdon’s leading men.
