This Event Has Finished
I have a series of mental health/wellbeing workshops coming to Maidenhead that I would love for you to share. And I will be holding a PRESS NIGHT at Saints Cafe on Wednesday 8th August, which you are welcome to attend for free.
So many people are quick to go to the gym and do their 3-4 sessions a week, but still people aren’t thinking about their mind. So I am developing a programme of weekly talks/workshops from professionals, that is almost like a mental health workout.
We all experience midweek madness, so our mission is to simply help people, to break up their week and to energise their mindset. Each wellness workshop will be delivered by a different speaker who will inspire and educate people about the different ways they can add more wellness to their life right now.
Olympian, Katy Avramova: Olympic swimmer, Katy will share her story about her experience of “going backwards”, failing to qualify for Beijing through to eventual success as an Olympian at the London 2012 games.
Mo Seebtubtim, the Founder of The Happiness Planner: Mo started with a vision is to inspire people to live a purpose and passion driven life and to find happiness from within. She will discuss happiness as a state of mind; that lies in the way you look at things – and the ways we can practice, influence, shape and change our happiness.
Nutritionist, Evie Whitehead: Evie will present the latest thinking on boosting mind and body balance and how you can help prevent days off work due to stress with a better diet.
Nutritionist, Minna Wood of Metawell: Minna will be talking about food and mood and the link between gut and brain. She will also talk about the evolutionary stress response and how chronic stress affects our physiology.
Personal Trainer, David Williams of The Power of One: David will be looking at our ‘elephant’, aka our emotional brain vs the logical brain, and how we can guide our elephant towards the right path, to realign habits and avoid emotional eating.
Sport in Mind Leader, Laura Brooks: Laura Brooks will be talking about how sport and physical activity can aid the recovery of people experiencing a wide range of mental health problems.
Trainer, Bruno Salvatore: Bruno will talk about he pushed his mind and body to its limits to become the first person to ride non-stop from Edinburgh Castle to Windsor Castle. He’ll be teaching you how to overcome trauma and mental health obstacles, to become the best version of yourself through health and fitness.
Plus many more.
When and where?
The talks will start on Wednesday 8th August – Wednesday 5th September, at Saints Cafe, 49a St Mark’s Rd, Maidenhead, SL6 6DP.
